They live in <strong>catteries and kennels<\/strong>. Tests are carried out by professional animal technicians and ethologists under controlled conditions and environment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In-home panels<\/strong> are constituted of <strong>family-owned pets<\/strong>, selected according to criteria like age, sex and breed. Also called versus test, it is based on a simultaneous presentation of <strong>two foods<\/strong> to pets. It determines whether a <strong>preference<\/strong> is expressed by measuring the eaten quantities of each product.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two main parameters are assessed in a two-bowl test:<br \/>\n\u2022 the <strong>first choice<\/strong>: the first product tasted is mainly driven by pet food odor and reflects food <strong>attractiveness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 the <strong>intake ratio<\/strong>: the amount of each product consumed versus the total amount of food consumed.
